Theremin Jam

  • Norman Central Library 225 North Webster Avenue Norman, OK, 73069 United States (map)

Norman Public Library Central welcomes the musical talents of the Oklahoma Theremin Society for a Theremin Jam, at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in Rooms A and B.

The theremin is a unique musical instrument pioneered in the 1920s by Soviet inventor Leon Theremin. It’s played by positions one’s hands next to metal antennas that sense the position of the player’s hands to create sound.

Member of the Oklahoma Theremin Society will be on site to play their instruments, and there also will be a chance for attendees to try their hand at playing one as well.

All ages are invited to attend, and registration in advance is not required.
